Locating a fantastic hotel when you’re visiting in Santa Barbara isn’t always easy, mainly because you will find so much choice! Sure, you can choose something out of the same Santa Barbara travel guide that everyone and their sister has consulted for the past few years, but that does not imply you’ll have a very positive experience (in truth, it would practically guarantee a bad one!). Alternatively, it’s really a good idea to do a tiny bit of homework, making use of your pal the ‘net. Locals definitely be aware of the most reliable hotels in their own city, what the best rooms are, and the right days to hit up their chosen parts of the city. But you shouldn’t go up to everybody you meet in the airport in Santa Barbara, looking for their hints and tips. So instead, we’ve collected this short list of our 3 favourite hotels in Santa Barbara for you. They are the ones we would suggest to our family when they come to visit – but as we do not want you to believe we’re simply being biased, the following are the opinions from Yelp.com:

1. Canary Hotel

I could seriously move into the Canary Hotel and live happily ever after. I love it so much I would marry it. I don’t think there is anything I can say about this place that hasn’t been said in other reviews. It’s a beautiful, relaxing piece of heaven, sitting in the middle of town. I only had a one night stand with the Canary, but I will be going back for more. Until then I’ll be dreaming of the time we had together.

We absolutely loved this place. Our room was large and “L” shaped, so the “kid” side with the fold out couch felt a little separate from the “grown up” side. Certainly more than in a regular large rectangular hotel room. Staff was very nice. Room was very clean and nicely appointed. Easy walk to beach — 1/10 mile, max.

My mom and I just stayed here for a night. This was our second stay here. We absolutely love it!
The staff was the same from a year ago. Its clean, organized, quiet, charming and in a great location. You are near State street but off a little which helps you feel more relaxed. The pool area is adorable and quaint. breakfast is always great.
We decided we will be back!
